AISSMS Hotel Management College had the honour of welcoming Dr. Vithal Indira Venkatesh Kamat, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Kamat Hotels Group Limited, as the Guest of Honour during the First Year Orientation Programme for B.Sc. Hospitality Studies and Culinary Studies students.
Dr. Kamat addressed the newly admitted students and their parents at AISSMS CHMCT, offering insightful perspectives on the dynamic world of the hospitality industry. Drawing from his extensive professional journey, he emphasized the core values of hard work, patience, and gratitude, illustrating each with engaging anecdotes and real-life experiences.
The session was well-received by both students and parents, who participated enthusiastically in an interactive Q&A segment. A highlight of the event was when a parent, recognized for posing the most thoughtful question, was presented with a personally signed copy of Dr. Kamat’s acclaimed book, Idli, Orchid and Will Power.
Dr. Kamat’s visit proved to be highly enriching, offering the first-year students a valuable glimpse into the demands and rewards of a career in hospitality. The session not only inspired the students but also provided clarity and motivation for parents in supporting their wards through their upcoming career in Hotel Management in one of the top Hotel Management College in Pune.
